FOODLOGIK Streamlines Operations for Panino

Executive summary

Established since 2006, Panino is an independently owned company that sources and delivers high quality bakery products and fresh sandwich fillings to Foodservice customers throughout Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, and Dorset.

Challenges

Panino were using an outdated Opera solution with a bolt on module for distribution, called Roads.   The solution was slow and could not grow with Panino’s business model.   The slowness caused many inefficiencies within the admin team, making it very stressful to process incoming orders in time for early afternoon delivery deadlines.  Limitations of the old solution also caused a lack of visibility on what stock to re-order leading to stock-outs and impacting service levels.

Denis Boitoult, Director at Panino, sums up the difficulties.

“As a business we were challenged by many shortcomings of the solutions we were using to manage the business.  Inefficiencies with data entry and order processing, as well as stock visibility and despatch issues, to name a few.  However, with the help of Foodlogik and the team there, we have overcome these.  The office is much calmer and efficient as a result.”

Denis Boitoult continues, “Our goal was for a smooth transition from our old system to Foodlogik, this was achieved with some hard work by my accounts team, and the assistance of Bill and the Foodlogik team.”

Results, ROI & future plans

Many benefits across the business have been realised by Panino.

Panino are enjoying much better control and visibility of stock, orders, and margins.

The Order to Delivery process is much simpler and efficient, from telesales and order entry, through to managing delivery notes and invoicing.

The admin team is more productive, due to the timesaving efficiencies realised by using Foodlogik.

The benefit which has made the most impact on the business is the savings in time, and the elimination of double entering data.
